Bill Bunn, a self styled renaissance man, burst upon the music
scene
in San Francisco through the kitchen and the pulpit. Bill is chef at
the long running and wildly popular Teatro Zinzanni where he shares his
culinary and vocal talents with equal authority and charm. Bill left his
native Los Angeles in the 1980’s and headed to New York where he trained in
dance with Joffrey Ballet and Alvin Ailey, after which he went on tour in
Japan dancing his way into the hearts of dance fans there. Bill modeled in
print advertising for fashion designer Issey Miyaki. Back to the big apple
and a part in the off-Broadway production, “Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie.”
Movie credits include “Primary Colors,” “Gloria,” and “Fatal Attraction” and
he is the featured character in a nationwide commercial for Powerhouse Candy
Bars.
Bill returned to California and has sung with several choral groups including the jazz octet, “Soundwave,” and sang backup for Ernestine Jackson at the United Nations 50th Anniversary Celebration. Bill also performed in a tribute to Rosa Parks, and plays many benefits in venues like The Empire Plush Room, Michael’s Octavia Lounge and The Pan Pacific Hotel San Francisco for various worthy causes like Shanti, Open Hand and Tin Pan Alley Productions.
Currently dazzling audiences at Teatro Zinzanni every night, Bill finds time to study and teach music, volunteer his great talent for many worthy causes as well as perform in local venues solo and with other starts like Shirley Smallwood, Kim Nalley, Spider Saloff, Spencer Day, Tim Hockenberry and Donna Sachet.
Bill Bunn currently resides in San Francisco and is a featured performer in the Tin Pan Alley Productions line up of the finest vocalists in the San Francisco Bay Area.
